Even More Old Days
Class of June 1950 Senior Play (Stardust, by Walter Kerr) Cast
Front row, kneeling, left to right: Jan Smith, Betty Dunlevy, Mary Lynn Stanley, Alice Forbes, Nancy Matthews,Judy Singletary, Suzanne Edwards. Middle row: Madelyn Hudson, Mollye Wagner, Doris Smith, Denese Arnold, Richard Carpenter, Lester Gibson.  Back row: Robert Cooper, Jerry Smith, Sam Johnson, Ed Miller, Roy Paris.
Sunset Company, Camp Dallas, June 1948.  Yours truly, future webmaster, back row (see arrow).  Third row, with sergeant's chevrons, looks suspiciously like Dalton Minshew(as we knew Lewis then).Just over Robert Walls' left shoulder (he's the first sergeant, kneeling, class of '49) looks like Jim Ragsdale. Just behing Jim is Kenneth Jones.  Behind and between B.B. Smith and A. Moore looks like Lyman Coleman.  Remy Tabor on the end of that same row.  Behind B.B. is John Ingram, and behind his right shoulder looks like Baker Brogdon. Aside from Billy Hyer (class of '49) standing just to Dalton's left, I can't remember anyone else.  Probably some of you will recognize(remember) others.
The Sunset Marching Band, sitting in the stands, waiting to perform, Fall of 1949. Don't know which game this was; but it was a good year for Sunset football until the final game for State.  That final game, by the way, and this group of hardworking band members, was the inspiration for a poem by the old webmaster which was published in the North Texas quarterly magazine later.  If you would like to see both the published and hand-written copies click here .
Boude Storey Band. I think this had to be about 1946.  3rd from left on the 3rd row is Lee Allison, and I'm pretty sure that's Charles Locklin sitting behind and left of the girl who is in a different uniform (drum majorette perhaps?).  I am unable to identify yours truly, but I'm in there!
