More Current News of Classmates

Beginning page 2 of Current News. after letting page 1 get too long.  Who better to start with than "Chief" McMillon?
John McMillon:
In response to my latest mailing about this website, I received an email from John about his latest trip.  I'll let John tell you in his own words: (this is dated 4-3-08)
Jerry--recent news from John McMillon.  Just returned from a 17 day trip to South Africa.  Capetown, Durban, Zulu Village, Johannesburg, Kruger National Park for game drives, Johannesburg to Pretoria, to SOWETO, to Botswana and Chobe National Park and game drive, and on to Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls.  During our stay in S.A., we visited and had lunch with two S.African families, visited an elementary school, got a ride on an elephant!!!,  Petted nine month old lion cubs and got a heliocopter(sp) ride over Victoria Falls--WOW.  Only fourteen on our trip which made it extra nice.  Two ladies flew all the way to Capetown from Anchorage, Alaska!!!!!!!!!

Last year went on a tour of China for 21 days and that was a BLAST.

Thanks for doing the WEBPaage.  John Mc

David McGlamery:
In an email dated 12-23-08, David sent the following news of the McGlamerys.
Hello Jerry.  I thought I might give you some news from the David McGlamery family.  In 2008, Marilyn and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, but have delayed our celebration trip to the Big Bend until next spring.  Marilyn is a 1951 Adamson graduate.  The Good Lord has blessed us both with good health so that we have been able to survive this long.

Our attorney daughter, Susan Schaab, has just won first prize in an international writers competition in genre fiction for her debut novel, "Wearing The Spider." Her novel about identity theft won out over 400 other entries from all over the world.  If she is successful in selling the movie rights, I may be able to afford the hunter's lodge and bass boat I never bought so I could pay for her college tuition instead.  Maybe higher education will pay off after all.

Regards,    Dave McGlamery

Barbara Turner:
In an email to Denese, Barbara (Huffstutter) Turner sent the following :
Denese, almost on the spur of the moment I decided to take my granddaughter, Chelsea, and her daughter, Emily (now 16) to NYC for the holidays. It was wonderful to spend the time with them. I love those girls so much!

Don New:
I wasn't given the exact date this photo was taken, but I'm sure it was pretty recent because it happened to be the 57th birthday of Don and Lea's oldest son, Don.  Also, my little birdie didn't say, but I'm guessing that the young man with him is probably his son.  Of course, we all know what happens when we ass-u-me.  This was a nice birthday gift , tho'.
Nita (LePori) Ford:
Nita and John celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in  December.  I don't have a photo of the Groom, but here's one with the Bride and a couple of old classmates.
Jeanie (Wilson) Mercer:
A new column from Jeanie celebrating warmer weather and feet.  There's also a new Photo taken in May.  Check it out here .
Jim Ray:
Here's a couple of pics of Jim's granddaughter.
